He has appeared in a record 183 matches where he has scored 140 goals, the most by any player in the tournament's history. His exceptional achievement was recently acknowledged by UEFA as they presented him with a special award during the 2024-25 Champions League draw.
The 39-year-old continues to score consistently having netted seven times in eight appearances for Al-Nassr in the ongoing season. He will be next seen in action in the Saudi Pro League on Saturday as his club face Al-Orobah.
